About Us
We are Abby & Casey Balza and are located in North Plains, Oregon (about 45 minutes from Portland). We were married December 14th, 2009. Our dogs are our family members and live inside the house with us. We believe in health testing our dogs before breeding and strive for great health, temperament, and conformation in our dogs and in our breeding program. Abby got started in the dog show world with Chinese Cresteds, with her powderpuff male, "Zane" (Row-Sand's Carmel Latte) whom accumulated 10pts including a major before he became too tall for the show ring.
Mountaindale Boxers was founded in 2005 with the purchase of our first boxer, “Duke” (Ch. Butler’s Iron Mike), from Butler Boxers, who became an American champion on 7/22/07, owner-handled. Duke, to us, is a true boxer with a great personality and temperament. He got us hooked and is the reason that we fell in love with this amazing breed.
In 2006 we welcomed another boxer into our household, “Riley” (Butler’s What’s the Fuss). Riley comes from a great pedigree of producers and we have high hopes of her in the whelping box to become the foundation for Mountaindale Boxers. Riley is currently the dam of 2 American Champions with 4 others pointed.
We had our first litter in 2009 sired by Am/Can Ch. Summer's Blackjack of Shadigee A/CSOM and out of our girl Riley via surgical AI with frozen semen, in which resulted 10 lovely puppies. The "April Fools Litter" as they were born April 1st. We kept a stunning flashy red brindle boy named "Diesel" (Mountaindale's Foolish Pleasure), who is currently searching for his last 2 majors. Three other puppies went to show homes: a beautiful plain brindle girl named "Kylie" (Mountaindale's Fool Hearted) went to live with Hammatt Boxers in Louisiana, a pretty flashy brindle girl named "Betty" (Butler's Black Betty) went to live with Debby Mongeau in Idaho, and a handsome flashy brinde male named "Kale" (Mountaindale's Fool For You) went to live with Brent Bischak in Pennsylvania.
August 2010, we had our second litter here at Mountaindale Boxers sired by the gorgeous "Ty" Ch. Trail's End Cookin' With Fire out of our Riley. This was another surgical AI with frozen semen litter and 7 stunning puppies resulted, 5 of which are show prospects. We decided to keep a sassy fawn girl named "Cassie" (Mountaindale's What's Cookin'). The 4 other show pups from the litter are: Cooper (CH Mountaindale's Great Escape), Livvie (Mountaindale N Taj Follow My Folly), Gavin (CH Mountaindale N Katydid's Into The Wild), and "Zoe" (Mountaindale's Step Into Paradise). We are very excited about the quality from this litter with 2 champions at just 13 months and 16 months old, and 1 other pointed already.
In July 2011, we welcomed a new addition to our household thanks to Pentastar Kennels. A spunky silver and white hairless Chinese Crested girl named "Effy" (Pentastar N Les-Lee's Never In Neutral). We are excited to return to the Crested ring and see what Effy can do!
